LONDON ROOFTOP SOBER ECSTATIC DANCE PARTY

What to expect at a Life Force Dance Event - FAQ
What is Ecstatic Dance?
Ecstatic Dance is a freeform dance practice that encourages self-expression, mindfulness, and personal exploration through movement. Without choreography or judgment, participants are invited to let the music guide their bodies in an intuitive and authentic way. The experience fosters emotional release, deep connection to the body, and a sense of freedom as dancers move to a variety of rhythms. It’s an opportunity to let go of inhibitions, tap into your inner joy, and share a powerful communal experience with others through the universal language of movement.
Ecstatic dance guidelines
- Get high on life, not substances. This is an alcohol-free, drug-free, smoke-free environment and one of the few spaces Londoners can go out dancing in a sober space and feel safe. We have a zero tolerance policy towards anyone showing up under the influence of these substances and will be denied entry without a refund. Please respect this and support our community in creating more sober and safe spaces for our fellow Londoners to enjoy.
- Communicate with your body, not with words. To get the most out of experience please refrain from talking during the dance and allow yourself to surrender and connect with the music and let your movement do the talking. There is a breakout space, separate from the dance floor which you are welcome to use anytime during the event if you would like to take a break and chat with others.
- Digital detox. Take this opportunity to be fully present with yourself and others on the dance floor and keep your phone out of sight. You are welcome to take photos of yourself or of anyone else only if you have their permission, before or after the event or in our breakout area.
- Move your body freely. there will be some guidance at the beginning of the session but there will be no choreography so this is your chance to let the music guide you, let go and dance like no one is watching!
- Respect your fellow dancers. To create a safe space for everyone to dance freely and without inhibitions please refrain from spectating others.
- You are welcome to dance with others if they wish to join or you can also dance alone, whichever you feel more comfortable with.
- No experience necessary. Everyone is welcome!
